After functioning for eight years, the Hellenic National Bioethics Commission, presents here a collection of the Opinions and Reports issued. An earlier collection was published in 2003 by the National Printing Ofce. That collection included the first six Opinions and Reports of the Commission (2000-2003) and was distributed to the participants of the 1rst Forum of the National Ethics Councils, held in Athens in June 2003 under the auspices of the Greek Presidency of the E.U. We intend to disseminate the present publication to all national ethics councils worldwide. Our scope is to promote the exchange of ideas among scientists and other academic professionals, to set the pace for a fruitful dialogue and to offer a valuable educational tool for students. The Commission also publishes regularly its Opinions and their Reports on its offcial websit. [Do prefácio]
