Resumo: The aim of this study is to provide an in-depth analysis of the existing charging system for heavy goods vehicles (HGV) in the European Union and in Switzerland. This study therefore, presents an overall picture of the current schemes in operation and their impacts, in light of the proposed development of the "Eurovignette" directive, the debate on climate change and the expected growth in road freight transport.
