RESUMO:
Demographic and technological changes have boosted demand for a highly skilled workforce. The skill shortage, which is a topic of high relevance in many European countries, has led to a widespread debate on appropriate policy responses. These policies include measures to increase female labour force participation, improve the qualification of the present and future workforce and change the way in which labour is organised.
