In the face of substantial Euroscepticism, diverging approaches to policy among EU countries and concerns over burdensome legislation, protecting the credibility of EU policy formulation is of vital importance. Though the better regulation process overall is an area of strength for the EU, you should make impact assessments more consistent and work to improve the quality and consistency of economic analysis. You should also give greater weight to the ex-post evaluation process and connect it better to the exante impact assessment process.
